Designing the Revival Edition
Every watch begins with a series of decisions. Some are technical, others aesthetic, but together they shape how the watch feels on the wrist and how it performs in everyday use.
The Revival Edition was designed with a clear objective: to create a modern tool watch that reflects the spirit of practical watchmaking while remaining versatile enough for daily wear.
Rather than chasing trends, the goal was to focus on clarity, durability, and balance.
A Modern Tool Watch
The Revival Edition was conceived as a watch that could handle travel, daily wear, and demanding environments without becoming overly complex or visually cluttered.
Tool watches historically served a purpose. They were designed to be legible, durable, and dependable. Those principles continue to guide the design of the Revival Edition.
Every element of the watch was considered with that philosophy in mind.
Why Titanium
One of the earliest decisions in the design process was the choice of case material.
Titanium offers several advantages for a watch intended to be worn daily. It provides excellent strength while remaining significantly lighter than stainless steel, making the watch more comfortable over extended periods.
Its corrosion resistance also makes it well suited for environments where a watch may encounter water, sweat, or harsh conditions.
The brushed titanium finish chosen for the Revival Edition highlights the geometry of the case while maintaining the understated character expected of a tool watch.
A Dial Built for Depth
The dial architecture of the Revival Edition was designed to create depth without sacrificing legibility.
At its center is a subtle saltire structure that guides the eye toward the hands while adding visual texture. Surrounding the dial is a recessed two-tone GMT track, allowing the wearer to distinguish between day and night hours at a glance.
Applied NexusBlock indices provide strong dimensionality and luminous performance in low light conditions. At twelve o’clock, the NexusBlock marker anchors the dial and establishes a distinctive identity for the watch.
The overall result is a dial that remains clear and readable while offering a sense of depth that changes with the light.
The Role of the Bezel
The Revival Edition features a unidirectional timing bezel designed for practical use.
Paired with a sapphire insert, the bezel provides strong scratch resistance while maintaining a clean and refined appearance. The rotation mechanism was chosen to deliver precise, confident clicks that reinforce the mechanical feel expected from a professional tool watch.
While the GMT function allows tracking of a second time zone, the bezel retains the timing functionality that has long defined dive watches.
Choosing a True GMT Movement
A GMT watch is most useful when traveling between time zones. For that reason, the Revival Edition uses a true GMT movement that allows the local hour hand to be adjusted independently.
This makes it possible to change time zones quickly without stopping the watch or disturbing the reference time displayed by the GMT hand.
The movement selected for the Revival Edition is the Miyota 9075, a modern automatic caliber known for its reliability and practical functionality.
Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour with a power reserve of approximately 42 hours, the movement provides dependable performance suited to everyday wear.
